I like this but the judges need to decide is this a photography competition or an image competition. I am a photojournalist so I don't use image manipulation. There should definitely be a "Real" "Not Real" categories. This is very obvious but some slyly try to pass images off as real photographs. Lets all be honest and upfront. If it's a composite or HDR image lets say so. Like I said, I like it, I know it took a lot of work to make, but it won't get a rating from me as long as they call this a "photography" contest.

This is a great shot for many reasons. The Photoshop skills are very good and the exposure on all the riders is right on. You have positioned them in a way that really sells the shot as a work of art. Well done.

I am getting dizzy just looking at this. Great "Action" shot and excellent Photoshop skills. How long did it take to put this together? It would make a nice poster.

In the world of chrome it´s called a `Comp´, or composite as a composite image of BMX bikes, before it was masks and inter-negatives reproduced onto an 8X10 reversal or chrome, used to cost a lot now its photoshop. Still needs a good eye and a good imagination. This image would have once cost about ten grand to make for an ad agency, maybe more if the copy was hot. I don´t know what the hustle is all about a photograph itself is still only a representation of some subjective concept, made by an artist, why photographs this and not that ? It symbolizes part of the world but is not the world, it is still only now created a part of the world now as a photograph and so this image meets every criteria for existence, good work ! Well done.

Great job in putting this photograph together. The proportions you used on the bikers in the background are right on, excellent skills in photoshop and amazing camera techniques to catch these guys in action!

Hi Jen. Sorry was not talking to you!I was giving my oppinion on all the photoshop coments. I am just sort of getting tired of the coments "this is photoshop and it should not be here". Like I said we all have a right to participate and we all can decide it we want to vote for an image or not.

No problem Bozzzz, but E. L. Moller needs to read my reply to you again because mine had no malice so for him or her to even comment about Photoshop was ridiculous and I was only talking to you. Wow! People really should grow up and catch a grip! None of this is necessary. Have a great evening Bozzzzz and thanks for writing me back.

Jen, sorry you misread my point. I guess I should have stated it differently. "Welcome to the 21st Century" meaning that's how photography has evolved and now the photographer is no long limited to the straight print, except in Photo journalism. I'm sorry if you thought I was bashing you LOL. Hey, anyone can critisize my photos all they want. I use critques and learn from them. I tried to write you directly, but when I click your name, no address comes-up...and I never expect to win these contest anyway and I'm not looking to boost my comment count either. Peace!

Weather you are against photographer using photoshop or not, we all have a right to participate in this competion. If you dont like photoshop being used then dont comment or vote for it, but dont try and force your ideas on other. We are not trying to force you to use photoshop.

First of all Bozzzzzz, or whomever; it's not my place to know the whole entire story on an image/photograph. I was encouraged to rate images through IFP3 so I am. As any artist would understand as well as it's what I see in my eye whether 21st Century or not, history or not; you should not have been so evasive in your way of commenting back to me as if you had an issue. It's not that serious to win the prize! It's all about presentation and the opinions of others for which we all have our own. I'm definately NOT a 6th grade teacher, and I'm truly an honest person but I would have never known the history on this image/picture of yours or anyone else's so in short, there's no reason to take offense when it's what I see when I rate and not what the story is behind it. I believe art is what you feel, and what you express that's real within and not things that are not. This is why I left my comments the way I did and sorry you obviously were offended. If I've misread you, then sorry in advance; but please ... don't be mean and it's not necessary to write back. Just wanted to reply back to you since you mentioned the 21st Century and it appeared you had an issue with my comments. It's really not worth it to write back and forth this way. We're suppose to be rating photographs! Have a good evening!

Actually, this PHOTO has a story behind it. I am a 6th grade teacher and a couple years ago one of my students broke his neck attempting to do stunts like this on his BMX bicycle. He was bed ridden for many months and had to be home schooled. His mom contacted me and told me how depressed Jake was that he couldn't attend school. So I threw this shot together from shots I had taken the summer before at a BMX stunt demonstration. Then I got the whole class to sign the mat that I mounted the 16x20 print on and we all went over to Jake's house on a Saturday morning to give it to him and cheer him up. There was alot of crying and smiles. BTW...I didn't see any rule against using photoshop for this contest. These are all straight shots that have been copied and pasted into one. The bike riders were not manipulated in anyway other than resizing. I guess you might call it a collage. Hey, welcome to the 21st Century, Jen.

I can tell it was computer animated pur se and it's not a realistic picture at all. Photoshop images should not be allowed honestly because it's not an actual picture being taken!

However you did this it is a definite eye catcher. Combining several photos into one is still photography. I do not see any evidence of anything being created by post processing. Great shot(s).

Yes, photoshop enters into every photo contest in this day and age. I would venture a guess that a huge percentage of photos submitted have SOME photoshop eliments used.
Remember....A good photoshop image almost always evolves from a good starting image. In this case there are several good action images combined into one.
Good job!
