I wanted to say "Thanks" for those that have voted on this. Y'all must see what I saw in this... Determination by a young lady smaller than the cow.

Nice shot!! You don't have to defend your work . Not everyone is going to like it. I have had my website up and running for 3 years now. I average 7000 hits a month and sell many photos because of it. I receive at least a 50 emails daily from people who have visited my website . I try to please the people that purchase my images, the big companies, they are what matters if you want to make $ in this business. What negative comments coming from contests like this shouldn't even matter. If your stuff is good it will sell its self. These photographers in contests like this aren't looking to buy from each other. They are looking to one up the other guy and win that so called HUGE monthly prize(gift certificate) instead of using their energy to sell there work in a profitable manner .

I do a lot of horse action photography as well. Most of it is in less than adequate lighting situations, like this one. I love this photo. I bet that girl's leg was hurting after this crash. I can also see where someone who only shoots in a studio, with controlled lighting, and poses would think this had bad angles. I will give it 5 stars.

I'm not one to argue... but Do not appreciate when ppl hide behind "guest" on here with "not very nice comments"! I'm not sure how you can call this soft, when you can see every little scar on the horses hind end, and EVERY spec of dirt flying. I didn't photoshop much like others do. This is just about how it came out of the camera.... Not hiding behind smoke and mirrors. Like I said in an earlier post..... The 16x20 came out crisp clear & awesome!!!!! When you are shooting photos of horses & cows, that are ALL OVER the arena running wide open, you can not pick the angles. Also like I said in an earlier post.....The people that compete in these events. LOVE THIS ANGLE! But you are entitled to your opionion.

A decent shot. Some noise is visible, and the overall image quality is soft. The angle of the shot isn't the best either, but that's not really in your control.

Thanks for the compliments. Yes, it is a Paint Horse. I love them too!

I think this is a fantastic action photo, my main interest is horse sports photography and you have nailed this shot. The horse appears to be a paint too, i love the paint horses... Well Done :)

The anonomus idiot (guest) who berates true photographic prowis is at it again with his "this isn't artistic" comments. I rate this photo 5 stars. I wouldn't want to be the guy who got this photo from the front position. This is an awesome capture worthy of any sports magizines front page. Kudo's to the gal in the saddle. Try to tell her this is not artistic action. Great Photo

Oh, forgot to mention, “just a snap shot” portion of the comment...... Low light, fast unpredictable action, no flash...... Not just a snap shot! I don’t think so. I know many Professional Photographers, that have a lot of trouble getting the clarity in this type of photo. Sorry you feel that way.

This was not meant to be an artistic photo. It is an ACTION photo. The people that compete in these events love these photos because it show the grit, determination, and the “cow sense” that these horses have, not to mention the riders. This is what the SHOT (Stock Horse of Texas) is all about. The lady in this photo absolutely loved it, and ordered a 16x20 of it, which came out awesome. She was very happy with it. I thought the theme of this month’s contest was “Action”, not “Artistic. But thank you for your coment.

a fun picture, but no real artistic quality. Both animals and the rider are all being shot from behind. The composition isnt really interesting either. Interesting, but just a snapshot.

Thank You !! The cow was running wide open, when the horse & rider cut in front of it to stop & turn the cow the other direction. 2 frames later, the cow was almost up in the saddle with this lady. Indoor, low light arena, with super fast action going on. And without a flash. Again... THANKS!

The animals kicking up the dirt really creates a feeling of action. Well done.
