PS...it was shot at 1/8000th sec to freeze the wings (same as my hummingbird shot

Sooc..straight out of the camera. Just a little crop to enhance the composition. I was shooting 11 frames/sec so trying to track the bee was tough. I used a Nikon D3, Nikkor 105mm Micro and SB-800 flash. I had the camera on continuous AF. I knew with enough shots fired, I'd get at least one good. In fact, I ended up witha few keepers. Check my site, in the Wildlife gallery. There's some cool hummingbird shots, too. Thanks for looking.

what does sooc stand for? I know what it means, that it is straight out of the cammera and not manipulated. Great shot. I'm also curious as to how you focused on it so well. Dan

By the way, this shot is SOOC...save for a slight bit of cropping.

Thanks, Cshults. This is definitely one of my favorites. I've been getting great feedback from several places. I have an equally stunning shot of a hummingbird in my Wildlife gallery if you'd like to check it out: jmartinharris.com/#/gallery/wildlife/hbird1-11x14-1-of-1/ Thanks. Jim

Beautiful image - the wing...it's hard to take your eye off of it. Detail is great, color saturation is topnotch.
